Cathay Pacific New Livery: Launch

It's always exciting when an airline redesigns its livery. In this case though, CX made a blunder and uploaded the video prematurely.

Early responses have been positive. I like it. I think its contemporary without losing its heritage. It is kind of a joke though to hear a Brit say in the video how 'we are Asian' etc. That's the thing about Hong Kong, it never seems to be able to shake its colonial past and Pinkerton Syndrome.

Airline News: Singapore Airlines adopts local cartoon for its A380 livery (NOT)

Well it isn't new.

EVA Hello Kitty Plane

EVA has a Hello Kitty livery with the bells and whistles on board.

I like how some airlines have a sense of humor and is in touch with popular culture. Air New Zealand's latest collaboration with the movie 'The Hobbit' makes the carrier current and relevant.

I have always wondered why other airlines are so stuffy with their branding. Even if traveling has lost its glamor, why can't it still be fun?

So here goes.

My take on a fun version of a Singapore Airlines A380. The cartoon is from a local artist whose strip called Chew On It! appears in the Sunday broadsheet. All copyrights belong their respective owners. This is purely for fun and very amateur (as you can see by the bad photoshop work!).

Tried to be cheeky about the Suites...hope you get the joke :-).  Oh click on the image to enlarge...

Enjoy!
